Our 2008 Atons Run will be held on a quaint planet called Earth, in the state of Minnesota, in a secluded wooded camp (perfect for spotting space ships). The scenic site features fully modern bath and shower facilities (coed), a dining hall, and barracks cabins with finished ceilings and full electricity. As part of our nationally renowned hospitality, at least one of the cabins will be air-conditioned!

There were aliens of various hues, thrilling late night movies, and exciting intergalactic competition. The Atons 2008 Gopher XVIII "Close Encounters" Run was an out-of-this world success. The Atons would like to thank everyone who attended and helped to make our 2008 Run a real blast.

A big thank you to everyone who hosted weekend cocktail parties and contributed in other unique ways to everyones enjoyment. The Atons 2008 Run was a success because of all the hard work and pleasure that you contributed to the weekend.

It's that time of year again when the Atons invite you to come in from the cold and join with us in this season of giving. As part of our ongoing outreach we host this fundraising event during the winter holiday season to benefit charitable organizations in our community.

Our fundraiser is this Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Innuendo/Rumours in Downtown Saint Paul, from 5pm until 10pm. We ask for a $10 at the door, or just $7 donation with 5lbs of non-perishable food.

This event will include a silant auction with an assortment of items and gifts, photos with our (hot!) Santa, dinner and 2 for 1 drink specials. Extra auction tickets for $1 or 10 tickets for $5, crotch to floor for $10, and around the world for $20. You will also get one extra ticket for each pound of food you bring.

This year’s beneficiaries will be The Aliveness Project and Open Arms of Minnesota. The Aliveness Project will receive the proceeds from the door and the food we collect and Open arms will receive the proceeds of the silent auction. Over the past six years, through the work of this fundraiser, we’ve collected almost $20,000 and two tons of food for various organizations.

On February 17th, the Atons celebrated another year of brotherhood with our annual Officers Banquet. At this event we also inducted our new members, officers, and awarded our Friends of the Atons awards and Honorary Associates and Members.

Held at the relatively new bar, Pi, located in South East Minneapolis, we changed the event from an evening dinner to an afternoon brunch. This earlier schedule seems to resonate well with the 40 plus attendees.
