Why "Atons"?

Our name traces back to Akhenaten, the Egyptian pharaoh who, more than 3,000 years ago, shared his throne with his male lover, Smenkhkare. When a group of gay men in Minneapolis started a leather club in 1972, they named it with him in mind.

The club helped organize and unify a Midwest leather community where no formal leather group had existed before. Today we're the oldest continuously active club in the Mid-America Conference of Clubs.

Open to all individuals who support our values, regardless of gender or orientation.

Associate member

Help with fundraisers, bar nights, campouts and runs, wear the club patch, and get invited to the December holiday party and summer outings.
